Happy New Year, Clairemont Democrats!

Wendy Wheatcroft, gun violence prevention advocate and local San Diego lead for Moms Demand Action, will be our guest speaker for our meeting THIS TUESDAY, January 8th!

Also, we would like to vote on some bylaw changes that were discussed and proposed last year.

PROPOSED BY-LAWS CHANGES FOR THE CLAIREMONT DEM CLUB FOR EARLY 2019

ARTICLE IV. SECTION 1. – OFFICERS – CHANGE ” ….SHALL BE ELECTED AT THE GNEERAL MEETING IN JANUARY AND HOLD OFFICE FOR ONE YEAR.” to “……shall be elected at the general meeting in MARCH of each calendar year etc…..”

ARTICLE IV SECTION 3, PARAGRAPH 3 – CHANGE JANUARY TO MARCH IN THE FIRST SENDTENCE

ARTICLE VII, SECTION 1, LINE 4 change CANDIDATE SURVEY to CANDIDATE QUESTONNAIRE

ARTICLE VII, SECTION 2 – SURVEYS –Change the word “survey” through out to “Questionnaire”

ARTICLE VII, SECTION 4 – Change the word SURVEYS to QUESTIONNAIRES and CHANGE THE “ENDORSEMENT SHALL BE MADE BY A 70% VOTE …..”

to “ENDORSEMENT SHALL BE MADE BY A 60% VOTE OF THE QUORUM OF MEMBERSHIP PRESENT AT ANY GENERAL ENDORSEMENT MEETING.

ARTICLE VII, SECTION 5 – Add a sentence to the end of the paragraph, ” A candidate many be voted as “NOT ACCEPTABLE” by a majority vote of the quorum of the membership present at any general endorsement meeting.”
